Formats & Features

Every format we offer is engineered for coffee. Flat bottom pouches for premium shelf presence. Stand-up pouches for versatile retail display. Side gusset pouches for wholesale and foodservice. Quad seal pouches for larger US-market formats. All available with degassing valves, resealable zippers, die-cut handles, and custom windows — the features that make a coffee pouch perform as well as it looks.

Key features for coffee packaging:

  • Degassing valve — required for freshly roasted whole bean coffee. Our Plantmade range includes a TUV Industrial Compost certified valve for fully compostable packs.
  • Resealable zipper — press-to-seal standard across all pouch formats.
  • Window options — printed, strip, or die-cut, depending on barrier requirements.
  • Minimum order quantities from 6,000 units (digital) or 10,000 units (rotogravure).

Sustainable Materials for Every Roaster

Coffee packaging has two non-negotiables: barrier and freshness. Our materials are engineered to meet both — and to give you a credible, verified sustainability story at the same time.

Wastemade Recyclable PCR

our most popular choice for coffee. Made with up to 70% post-consumer recycled content (GRS certified resin). Available as a recyclable mono-material structure (PE/BOPE/PCRPE) supporting pack sizes from 250g to 5kg — the only recyclable option that works across the full weight range. Recyclable via soft plastics collection.

Plantmade Compostable

home or industrially compostable structures for brands where end-of-life is a core value. Available up to 1kg. For a fully compostable pack, both the laminate and degassing valve must be certified — our Plantmade range includes a TUV certified compostable valve.

Coffee Packaging FAQs

What are your minimum order quantities for coffee bags?

Digital printing from 6,000 units — the most accessible option for specialty roasters running multiple SKUs. Rotogravure from 10,000 units, with better unit economics at scale.

What sizes of coffee bags are available?

All standard retail sizes from 250g to 5kg. Our Wastemade recyclable PCR material works across the full range — compostable structures are available up to 1kg.

What's the difference between recyclable and compostable coffee bags?

Recyclable bags (our Wastemade PCR range) can be disposed of via soft plastics drop-off programmes — not kerbside. They contain up to 70% post-consumer recycled content. Compostable bags (our Plantmade range) break down in industrial or home compost conditions — but require the right composting infrastructure to work as intended. Neither is better than the other; the right choice depends on your brand values, pack size, and where your customers are.

What are lead times?

Typically 6–10 weeks from artwork approval, depending on format and volume. Get in touch for a project-specific timeline.

Can I receive samples before placing an order?

Yes. We recommend sampling for any new format or material combination. Contact us to arrange.

How does the ordering process work?

From initial enquiry through to delivery: quote and material selection → artwork and proof approval → production → quality control → delivery. Our team guides you through every step.
