Plantmade™ recyclable spout pouch

Grounded’s bio-based recyclable stand up pouches with a spout are made using our carbon negative Sugarflex™ laminates, derived from rapidly renewable plant materials. They are a mono-material (made using only one type of polymer) suitable for recycling in either #4 or soft plastic streams. They are the most sustainable refill pouch on the market. Available in both high and low barrier options.

    Frequently asked questions

    This is a great question and the answer is nuanced. They don't contain plastic as most people know it but they are made from bioplastic, which is technically a type of plastic. Grounded has a range of bioplastics that are made using our compostable Plantcell™ technology or our recyclable Sugarflex™ films and laminates.

    Different packaging materials and formats have unique considerations. The Customisation section shows the dimension allowances for each product and range of film thicknesses in microns (µ); these two specifications determine volume and weight limits.

    Yes, our Sugarflex™ films and laminates are suitable for both wet and oily applications.
    The spout can be placed anywhere along the top edge pouch; this is typically either on the top left edge, top middle center or top right edge.
    Our spouts are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and can be recycled in a dedicated PE plastic stream.

    Grounded has a range of different packaging formats available on our online store that are able to be purchased in smaller quantities. These have been designed for labels to be applied.
